Stop Break-ins With a Home Window Security Bar

September 3rd, 2007

In addition to preventing a possible break-in, a home window security bar can also prevent the window from being forced open by kids, thus avoiding possible disaster if they were to attempt to climb out.

Some of the home window security bars are available that have a lock that will require you to remove a key first before they can be opened, which would give better assurance to you in preventing children from having any type of accident through an open window.

However, there are people that if they want really want to get into your house will still be able to do a forced entry by breaking the glass in the window thus getting around any type of home security bar.

These will generally deter a casual burglar but a determined one will get through. Another option to a home window security bar are metal window grates. They attach to the inside of the window frame and even if the window is broken and opened, entry is stopped. Many rebuke these types of security devices due the feeling of living in a personal prison. It’s best to remember that most security devices are used as a deterrent to crime.
