Remodeling the kitchen and bathroom can go a long ways but at the same time it can cost easily 30K. Anther thing to consider is the area the home is located. You need to know what homes in the area have sold for. That will give you a traget range of what you can sell your home for even with a new kitchen and bath. Simple and cheap is the way many savy people go. Place a new coat of neutral paint colour on the walls. Replace the carpet with something that looks nice but is at a good price. Another great tip that many people over look is to get new floor vents and light fixtures. These fixtures can be very cheap and will go a long ways. Another cheap alternative to replacing or remodeling the kitchen is to get a new counter top and re-finish the cuboards.
