Candles and sconces

June 30th, 2008

Candle sconces are an elegant way to display candles in your home and to create an “oldie worldie” feel on a dark evening. If you use an interior decorator for any room, chances are they will recommend the use of sconces that can be made from wrought iron, copper or brass sconce.

There is an extensive choice of sconces available, but which ever you choose, they help to give the room a warm, inviting glow. Although you can use just about any kind of candles in sconces- votive, tealight, pillar or taper - your best bet is a dripless candle. Paraffin or beeswax candles are best if you want to spend your time doing more than peeling candle wax off the floors and walls.

A brass wall candle sconce with a hurricane lamp holds a candle inside an old-fashioned lamp. This type of candle sconce a sense of coziness. The “oldie-worldie” feeling of days gone by.

On cold winter nights when the wind is whistling outside, you can relax within the glow of the candles reflections. No need to worry about power cuts tonight!

Choose a different set of wall sconces for each room in your home and don’t forget to give your stairway an air of romance, nobility, intrigue and fashion, by adorning the wall of the stairway with candle holders. This completes the decor of your home. You may prefer the look of the brass wall candle sconce with the hurricane lamp for the whole of your house, with your favorite colors and scents to reflect your personality.
